Getting Your Kids to Brush Their Teeth
Sometimes it can feel like pulling teeth just to get your kids to brush theirs. They get tantrums, they forget to do it, or they moan and groan about it. For some reason, even though brushing their teeth will only take two minutes of their time, it can be one of the hardest things to get them to do. However, it does not have to be a challenge every night. Here are a few ways that can help you get your kids to brush their teeth on a regular basis:
- Use Fancy Toothbrushes
One of the best ways to get your kids to brush their teeth is by giving them a cool toothbrush. There are many different kinds of toothbrushes out there, including electronic ones. Having a cool electronic toothbrush can make brushing teeth fun and exciting; your children may even begin to look forward to it.
- Do It With Them
Kids love doing stuff with their parents so if they are giving you a hard time when you ask them to brush their teeth, try doing it with them. Brush your teeth at the same time as your kids, that way you can do it together.
- Remind them of the Dentist
Even though we offer great family dentistry in New York, we understand that no kid enjoys coming to the dentist. For this reason, reminding them that not brushing their teeth will mean a visit to the dentist may just give them the motivation they need to do it.
- Tell them the Reasons Why They Should Brush
If a child does not know why they are brushing their teeth, then they will not have the initiative to keep doing it. Make sure you educate your children on the importance of brushing and why they must do it.
Those are just a few of the many different things you can try to get your kids to brush their teeth.
